【摘要】:Thispracticerecognizesthateffectiveness,safety,anddurabilityofinsulationdependnotonlyonthequalityoftheinsulatingmaterialsbutalsoontheirproperinstallation.Thispracticeprovidesgeneralproceduresthatwillhelptoensureinstallationofinsulationinasafeandeffectivemanner.Itshallbenotedthatactualconditionsinexistingbuildingsvarygreatlyandinsomecasesadditionalcareshallbetakentoensureeffectiveandsafeinstallation.1.1Thispracticecoversproceduresfortheinstallationofmineralfiberbattandblanketthermalinsulationinceilings,attics,floors,andwallsofneworexistinghousingandotherlightframeconstruction.1.2Thispracticecoverstheinstallationprocessfrompre-installationinspectionthroughpost-installationinspection.Itdoesnotcovertheproductionoftheinsulationmaterials.1.3Thispracticeisnotintendedtoreplacemanufacturers'installationinstructions,butitshallbeusedinconjunctionwithsuchinstructions.Thispracticeisnotintendedtosupersedelocal,state,orfederalcodes.1.4Thispracticeassumesthattheinstallerpossessesaworkingknowledgeofapplicablecodesandregulations,safetypractices,tools,equipment,andmethodsnecessaryfortheinstallationofthermalinsulationmaterials.Italsoassumesthattheinstallerunderstandsthefundamentalsofconstructionthataffecttheinstallationofinsulation.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
