【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthelaboratorydeterminationoftheviscosityofengineoilsat150Cand110sshearrateusingataperedbearingsimulator-viscometer(TBSViscometer)equippedwitharefinedthermoregulatorsystem.OlderTBSunitsnotsoequippedmustuseTestMethodD4683-87.TheNewtoniancalibrationoilsusedtoestablishthistestmethodcovertherangefromapproximately1.5to5.6cP(mPas)at150?C.Thenon-Newtonianreferenceoilusedtoestablishthistestmethodhasaviscosityofapproximately3.5cP(mPas)at150Candashearrateof1x10s.Applicabilitytopetroleumproductsotherthanengineoilshasnotbeendeterminedinpreparingthistestmethod.Thistestmethodusesthecentipoise(cP)astheunitofviscosity.ForinformationontheequivalentSIunit,themillipascalsecond(mPas)isshowninparentheses.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
